Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
HealthCalc India ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) of India.
1. The Most Important Thing First
We do not collect, store, or transmit any health data you enter into our calculators. All calculations — BMI, diabetes risk, calorie needs, PCOS symptoms, period dates, water intake, ideal weight — happen entirely in your browser. The moment you close or refresh the page, all entered values are gone. We never see them. No server ever receives them.
2. What We Do Collect
We collect two types of non-health data when you visit the site:
- Analytics data (Google Analytics 4): Page views, calculator usage counts, device type, browser, approximate geographic region (city/country level), and session duration. This data is anonymised and aggregated — it tells us "500 people used the BMI calculator today from Mumbai" not who those people are.
- Advertising data (Google AdSense): Cookies used by Google to serve relevant advertisements. Google may use browsing history across other sites to determine which ads to show. See Section 6 for details.
We only collect this data after you give cookie consent. If you decline cookies, neither Analytics nor AdSense loads — the site works fully without them.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Analytics: To understand which calculators are most useful and improve the site. We use aggregated, anonymised data only.
- Advertising: To display relevant advertisements that fund the free operation of this site. We do not sell your data to advertisers.
- We do not use your data for automated decision-making with legal or significant effects on you.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the DPDP Act 2023, we process your data on the following lawful basis:
- Consent: Analytics and advertising cookies are loaded only after you click "OK" or save preferences in the cookie consent banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data for myhealthcalc.in in your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Site data), or by adjusting your preferences via the cookie banner on any page visit after clearing.
- Legitimate interests: We may process aggregated, non-identifiable traffic data to protect the site from automated abuse (bot traffic).
5. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (operated by Google LLC, USA) to analyse site traffic. GA4 collects anonymised usage data including page paths, session counts, and device type. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. Google processes this data on servers in the United States and other countries. This constitutes a cross-border data transfer. Google LLC participates in data transfer frameworks applicable under applicable law. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and GA4 data privacy information.
To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense (Google LLC, USA). AdSense uses cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing history. Google may combine this data with information from other Google services. This data is processed by Google, not by us. For details, see Google's Advertising Policy. To opt out of personalised ads: Google Ad Settings.
6. Cookies
We use cookies for analytics and advertising only. We do not set any cookies that store health data. For a complete list of cookies, their names, retention periods, and opt-out instructions, see our Cookie Policy.
7. Children's Privacy
HealthCalc India is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use this site without a parent or guardian. The DPDP Act 2023 requires verifiable parental consent for processing data of children — since our site is 18+ and does not store health data, this requirement is addressed through our age policy.
8. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act 2023
As a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights regarding personal data we process:
- Right to information: You may request a summary of personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed.
- Right to correction and erasure: You may request correction of inaccurate data or erasure of personal data we hold. Note: since we do not store health data, the primary data we could hold is analytics identifiers stored by Google.
- Right of grievance redressal: You may lodge a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Section 10). We will respond within 30 days as required by law.
- Right to nominate: You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer at contact@myhealthcalc.in.
9. Data Retention
- Google Analytics data: Retained for 14 months on Google's servers (our GA4 retention setting), then automatically deleted.
- AdSense cookies: Retention varies by cookie type — see our Cookie Policy for specifics.
- Health data you enter: Not retained at all. Zero retention — it never leaves your browser.
10. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (Section 13), we have designated a Grievance Officer for privacy-related queries and complaints:
- Organisation: HealthCalc India
- Email: contact@myhealthcalc.in
- Response time: Within 30 days of receiving your grievance, as required under the DPDP Act 2023
11. Security
All pages are served over HTTPS via Cloudflare's global network. No health data is transmitted to any server. Analytics and advertising data are processed by Google under their own security standards. We do not operate any databases or backend servers that hold user data.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend checking this page periodically.
13. Contact
For any privacy queries not covered above, contact us at contact@myhealthcalc.in.
